Harvest Your Goals from Beginning of the Year

Hello Poppy Community!

How have you been? Katie here, writing to check-in on you and your intentions. The seasons are so quick to change, and with that comes a nice reminder to ask yourself: what do I need in this season to bring me closer to the person I want to be? When fall comes to mind, I think of both feelings of sadness that summer has passed, as well as the excitement for the cozier seasons ahead.

Paying this kind of attention to the shifting seasons around us can bring meaningful reminders to locate ourselves in the cycles of our own lives. What is needed to close out the summer season? What is needed to prepare to the shift towards winter ahead? Following the present moment in nature - where can we harvest the work we have put in so far this year and prepare for the colder seasons to come?

For my clients, I use the fall season as a turning point to Revisit, Adjust, and Harvest our intentions and goals.

It’s time to take out your journal again, here’s my guide below!

Step 1: Revisit your beginning of the year intentions/goals

If you worked with me to set beginning of the year goals and intentions - it’s time again to dig that work back out. Take a moment to reflect:

  • How did you want to feel?

  • What did you value and prioritize?

  • What intentions did you set?

  • What actions did you take to support your intentions?

Step 2: Adjust. Building off of your reflections, ask yourself, have any of my intentions/goals shifted? If so, that’s okay! Life is fluid, and our goals are meant to be too. It’s okay to shed some goals or make amendments to them. Walk yourself through the following prompts:

  • Identify what hasn’t worked. It’s helpful to have an understanding of what impacts your intention journey to make meaningful adjustments to your goals.

  • Highlight your wins. Equally important is understanding what works! Take a moment to celebrate yourself and carry this through the upcoming season.

  • Ask yourself - who do I want to be NOW, in this present season? How do I want to feel?

  • Create a revised list of goals or actions to support this intention.

  • Refocus: What is the “why” behind my adjusted goals? Understanding where your motivations lie helps to keep things clear, focus, and intention-oriented.

Step 3: Prepare to Harvest Your Goals!

  • Break down your goals into specific actionable steps.

  • Create a timeline of when to take each action step and milestones of where to harvest them. This doesn’t have to be set in stone, life happens! Simply readjust, when necessary.

  • Most importantly - how can you hold yourself accountable? Where do you need support? And how will you celebrate?

Wherever you stand with your goals, I’d like to take a moment to celebrate you! Every time we show up for ourselves and approach our intentions with clear-eyed authenticity, we bring a more true and powerful version of ourselves to the world around us.

I’m excited to announce that one of my goals is ready for Harvest! One of my intentions this year has been to create more opportunities of community, vulnerability, and intention setting in-person. On September 11th, I’ll be hosting a workshop on Back-to-School Intention Setting from 5:30-7:30pm at Surf + Sand Co. Tickets are $20 and include my curated intentions workshop and a chance to build like-minded community. Link to register here

Can’t make it and still want to connect, or will be attending and want to chat? I’ve got you covered. This fall, I’m offering a complimentary 20 minute Consultation with me to dive deeper into your Fall Intention Setting!

Thank you for showing up for yourselves, and by extension, your families and communities.  Whether in person or virtually, I’m looking forward to connecting with you soon!
